Directors of Graduate Studies
The Graduate College is grateful to you for agreeing to serve as Director of Graduate Studies (DGS). In this position you play a crucial role, linking the College to your department or program, and providing essential advice and mentoring to our graduate students. We are convinced that good faculty advising early in a student's graduate experience and good mentoring throughout a student's graduate career are critical to student success. As such, we hope you will encourage the graduate faculty in your department to review the mentoring tips and guides we have collected.
We hope the Director of Graduate Studies Handbook will distill the Manual of Rules and Regulations of the Graduate College into manageable sections. You'll also find information on academic concerns, financial support for students, student employment, and much more.
